City of Bath Zoning Code Update Moving Toward Adoption!
The City of Bath's zoning code update is moving toward final adoption. Residents can review the proposed Land Use Code — which reorganizes the City's zoning districts and updates rules on housing, parking, landscaping, and more — on the Presentations and Reports page of the project website.
The City Council is scheduled to hold a Public Hearing and vote on passage of the updated code at its meeting on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Residents are encouraged to:
Review the draft code and supporting materials (Executive Summary, FAQs, presentations) on the project website. A hard copy of the full Draft Code will also be available at the city clerk’s office for the public to review during normal business hours.
Attend the September 2 meeting in person at Bath City Hall (55 Front Street) or watch the live broadcast on BCTV.
This update reflects work led by the City's Planning Office, Planning Board and Community Development/ Housing Committee with consulting firm Camiros to align Bath's zoning with the goals of the 2023 Comprehensive Plan.
